I am involved in teaching and research in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology. My research interests deal with (1) ultrastructure and distribution of sensilla on mites, insects and other arthropods; (2) fine structure and morphology of insect and mite eggs; and (3) anatomy and development of mite and insect induced galls of various kinds of plants.

I currently teach Transmission Electron Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy and undergraduate courses such as General Entomology and Ornamental and Turfgrass Insects.

I am a member in the following professional societies: Acarology Society of America, Alabama E.M. Society, American Inst. Biol. Sciences, American Microscopical Society, Canacoll Foundation, Electron Microscope Soc. Amer., Entomological Society of America, Entomological Society of Washington, Sigma Xi, Southeastern E.M. Society
