B.S., Honors in Biology, 1974, Purdue University
Ph.D., Ecology and Evolution, 1979, Princeton University
I have been employed in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at Mississippi State University from May 1979 to date.
I teach "Insect Ecology" and "Empirical Research in Theory and Practice".
I have modeled the mesoscale movement of Heliothis virescens (tobacco budworm) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) and the implications of this movement for area-wide management of this pest.
Since 1996, I have studied the overwintering and wild host plant use of the tobacco budworm and Helicoverpa zea (cotton bollworm) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) and the implications of their ecology for pest and resistance management at various spatial scales.
Currently, I am studying aspects of the biology of the tobacco budworm and cotton bollworm that affect rearing of these species.
