EDUCATION:
B.Sc., Ornamental Horticulture, 1983, Mississippi State University
M.Sc., Agronomy, 1989, Mississippi State University
Ph.D., Plant Pathology, 2003, Mississippi State University
Research Interest:
My area of research interests includes the biology, epidemiology, and pathology of turfgrass pathogens which leads to the development of successful disease management strategies. My research currently focuses on disease management strategies of spring dead spot and the frequency of occurrence of the causal organism, Ophiosphaerella korrae in Mississippi, determining fungicide resistance among populations of Colletotrichum spp. inciting anthracnose on creeping bentgrass putting greens, and leaf spot of bermudagrass.
Teaching:
In fall semesters I teach Turfgrass Diseases, EPP 4523/6523 that includes a laboratory where we focus on diagnostics.
Professional Organizations:
American Phytopathological Society
Crop Science Society of America
Golf Course Superintendents Association of America
Mississippi Turfgrass Association
Mississippi Association of Plant Pathologists and
Nematologists – President, 2005-07
